I didn’t increase the overclock much. The issue with the cooler being too tight might be the cause. While removing the CPU after it stopped working, the fan got stuck against it, so even though it wasn’t fastened anymore, I couldn’t take it off. Once it was removed, the CPU came out of its socket that was attached to the fan.
Loosen the cooler a bit more, but make sure it still keeps the CPU at the right temperature.
For coolers without a back plate, consider adding one. Reminder: When installing the new CPU, carefully guide it into position using your thumb while lowering the locking lever slowly.
The issue likely stems from something unrelated to the voltage settings you applied. It might be caused by another factor such as hardware configuration, software glitches, or external interference.
We really don't know if it "died" in the sense you speak of. Could have been just bad contact in the socket. And was why I has asked if you had tried to re-seat the cpu before or after trying the 1300x. I've had a few chips at about 1.60v They all still work. Why do they all still work if this is Kill zone? The world may never know.
