Windows 7 Ultimate on a 64-bit system has no RAM limit, but it depends on your hardware and system configuration.
Yesterday I completed the upgrade from a 32-bit to a 64-bit desktop, aiming to fully utilize my 4 GB of RAM and meet the motherboard's requirements. I saved my previous system and set up a virtual machine from it, then performed a fresh Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit installation. After some time, the machine started working, but it was still restricted to 3.62 GB of RAM—something I had previously increased in the 32-bit version. The Resource Manager indicates that certain hardware is "Hardware Reserved." Someone could possibly assist in lifting this restriction. Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit supports up to 192 GB of RAM, and all my components should be compatible with 64-bit. Thanks ahead!
Verify the BIOS settings for the graphics card memory allocation. As it's flagged as hardware reserved, the 380MB you see might only be allocated for that component.
You’re limited to 4GB of RAM right now. To reach 8GB, you’ll need to upgrade the RAM on your motherboard.
Always keeps a portion of memory set aside for the operating system. If you need extra space, purchase it!
You have 12GB of RAM, and the system confirms full availability through the Control Panel, even when paging is active.
It's typical for my performance to stay under 15gbs. For 12GB of RAM, keep an eye on your settings since they all operate together at the same frequency.
