I changed the BIOS settings, disabled built-in graphics, and reduced the allocated memory size to the smallest permitted. What happened? I placed two 2GB Mushkin RAM modules, which match the specifications I know the system can handle. Now the computer has 8 GB of RAM, with about 7.8 GB available. It seems the BIOS didn’t affect the reserved memory, but updating it let me actually use RAM—this wasn’t from Lenovo.
