The system runs all software except secure boot, and your i7-7700K is present. However, Windows indicates it's not compatible.

Currently, only 8th Generation Intel CPUs or newer are compatible. Support may evolve, but for now, your CPU isn't recognized. Windows 10 remains supported with updates through 2025.

Microsoft aims to avoid another Vista release because the original specifications didn't match what most users needed. They plan to add security options only compatible with newer processors like the 8th generation Intel and later AMD Ryzen models. This change reflects a shift toward modern hardware requirements, highlighting that Vista struggled on average systems. The update signals a clear message: Windows 11 is built for current technology, not older setups. Details about the OS requirements can be found in this article: https://www.techrepublic.com/article/win...-benefits/ Microsoft also indicated they might consider supporting 7th generation Intel CPUs or select Ryzen models based on feedback from early adopters.
