It won't affect speed at regular clock rates, but overclocking might matter if you're aiming for higher performance. I'm not pushing anything, just letting you decide. If you prefer RGB or a non-windowed design, the B350 is perfectly fine, as its main benefit is style.
The 2600X clearly outperforms, a minor gap still makes it worthwhile.
You won’t be able to jump into BIOS settings or push the clock speed to 500MHz on a Ryzen with the stock cooler. The 2600X only costs about $15 extra for its clock speeds. If you invest in a better cooler and a more capable board, you might get a 0.5GHz boost, but by then it’s probably pointless—since the 2600X already does that without any changes.
The Aurus Elite appears to have some issues initially but is endorsed by Buildzoid. It handles overclocking my 2600X to its full capacity without any problems.
The 2600x won't reach 4.6ghz. 4.3 is near the upper limit for Zen+ unless you have a top-tier chip. Most chips run around 4.2 across all cores, while your setup doesn’t even hit 4.1 on a 1600af. For an extra $15, I’d opt for the 2600x with a b450 pro4.
