It's a great offer for just $100. The 2600X is a solid choice. The extra $15 for the real speed boost makes it worthwhile. You get a clock speed increase from 3.7 to 4.2, which adds up.
I’d choose 2600X mainly because of the minor price variation, especially when it comes to performance—you won’t notice much, particularly in gaming. If you intend to stream, edit videos, or do anything similar, I’d stick with 2600X again... that small gap could matter later on. It’s a bit confusing if you ask me!
The B450 STEEL LEGEND VRM on that board isn't great. I recommend the Asrock Pro4 instead—it works well with the 2600x. Also, I'd suggest replacing the SSD in the 480GB L5 Lite 3D because it has a DRAM cache, which is important. If you have the budget, switching to a 1660 Super would keep this build capable of 1080p for years to come.
