I'll transition soon to AM5 boards. Your thoughts on motherboards are welcome since I'll be using one for some time. At Elast now, taxes on Chinese goods might increase again. The ASRock B650M Pro RS WiFi Micro you chose seems quite basic. Thanks for your feedback!
You've made a solid choice. To clarify, there are four factors to consider when selecting a motherboard: the VRM capacity should match your intended CPU, does it include all necessary features like USB ports and PCIe slots, is it free from reported problems, and does it fit your aesthetic preferences? Your aim is to find the most affordable option that meets all these requirements. More budget-friendly models such as B650M-HDV/M.2 or B650 Eagle AX could work just as well, though the B650M Pro RS would still be suitable.
@RONOTHAN## provided a clear breakdown of the options. The asrock is acceptable based on their explanation. The gigsbyte b650 ds3h and ax are both reasonably priced for their quality. I’d strongly suggest one specific change you should make. The Kingston nv2 offers limited longevity and tends to slow down rapidly because of its small SLC cache. You might find better alternatives like the sn850, sn770, lexar nm790, etc., available at comparable prices. RAM remains costly compared to more affordable 6000mhz kits that support CL30/32 standards.
The major improvements come from the RAM SSD and power supply. The smaller upgrades include a cooler design and the CPU 7600, adding about 118 seconds over the 7500F. An IGPU is useful for fixing phantom spirits and works better than the Peerless Assassin. It’s slightly faster than the Peerless Assassin. The board suggestion swaps to a B650M HDV because it offers more RAM slots and an extra USB port, making it a solid choice. VRMs match at 6000C36, which isn’t enough to justify the low-quality chips that limit speeds. Upgrading to a 6000C30 improves performance without tuning, and a 1TB NVMe SSD is a great value compared to the NM620. The RX850E is overpriced; a 1000W UDG is a better deal with a 10-year warranty.
I've got the PSU and case ready so they'll remain during the build, as you mentioned I've already verified the B650M HDV but will recheck now. If I manage to secure this RAM at a low price, I'll use it right away — Kingston FURY Beast 16GB DDR5 4800MHz CL38 KF548C38BB-16, bidding now. I've already implemented many of your recommended adjustments: https://se.pcpartpicker.com/user/Configus/saved/DR8qdC
Tell me what you currently possess. It’s not recommended to move to AM5 unless you have a 7800X3D; otherwise, with AM4 you could likely get a 5800X3D.
This version appears suitable for the QVL, as confirmed by the provided link.
I'm focusing more on this project now since I also have an Intel build and want to compare: https://se.pcpartpicker.com/list/ZDTK9c
