I've been worried about this situation for a while. My SD card had full disk encryption using Truecrypt. I accidentally formatted the wrong drive and deleted the encrypted space. The operating system is Windows 7, and the card was either NTFS or FAT32. Do you know any tools that can recover an encrypted volume like this? I really need the data from that card—my backup is outdated and missing recent files. I don’t have a copy of the Truecrypt volume itself, only another copy inside a different encrypted volume.
You may attempt the test disk, though I believe it could be completed.
Despite limited storage and a fully encrypted drive, the system managed to locate the data without scanning everything. Still, I remain optimistic!
It seems like you're referring to TestDisk. It's one of the top tools for recovery, and you've had success with it—recovering a 500GB drive is impressive!
I don't remember the name. It isn't on my home computer, sorry. If Recuva is handling it, that's fine! Most folks rely on that or TestDisk.
