I mean, the only idea that comes to mind is keeping the old PC and just installing Spotify on it, connecting speakers, and using it for playback. But that seems like a pretty awkward setup for a computer, since it also needs a monitor and there are much better options available. I don’t see any other purpose for it right now.
A Core 2 Duo remains suitable for everyday internet tasks provided it has enough RAM and a graphics card. You might retain the older machine with that CPU for running older software when needed, or repurpose it as a media streaming device connected to a TV. It may struggle with 4K content but should function adequately for 1080p.
