He plans to invest in upgrading your old PC for blender or high-quality video editing. Your system has a Core 2 Duo processor, 2 GB RAM, and a Zebronics G31 motherboard without a graphics card. You're looking for recommendations to transform it into a powerful editing machine.

spending $200 on a 2-core CPU means he either got shocked like nothing I've experienced before, or he purchased it a long time ago. you can find a Ryzen 5 1600 with 6 cores and 12 threads for $150 (a brand new one on Amazon), but as tofu pointed out, that's unlikely to happen

He believes he can purchase a 3900x for you, though he mentioned you need to utilize the outdated CPU in some way. Are there possibilities to work with this older processor?

He purchased it when I was born, a really old model. That’s why I’m looking for an upgrade. What else would you like to know in detail? Please tell me.

Looking for practical applications? It might be too resource-intensive for everyday tasks that a regular person would expect to run smoothly on a standard CPU.

It’s a poor offer; we should have noted that earlier. Just to highlight, because we don’t know the purchase date, it could have been a really bad deal.

Wait, he won't part with a Core 2 Duo cuz it cost him $200 a decade or more ago but he'll just up and buy a 3900X like that? Can you fill in the rest of the blanks here, like a budget for the build?
