The situation feels odd since the apology wasn't issued after the Unity launch. It raises doubts about their sincerity.

I'll never forget this. If they can't deliver anything worthwhile, they shouldn't get the praise.

The team members likely intend what they say, since overall leadership seems more frustrated about poor results than about customers having a bad experience.

There are skilled individuals contributing their talents, and it's important to value their efforts rather than just accepting corporate decisions. Supporting artists is essential.

I value the creators but don't support those in power restricting them. Who would want to spend four years just to say yes? They're being paid to prioritize profits from big companies like Sony and Microsoft over real ideas.

It sounds like you're thinking the game has a lot of flaws despite its potential. Even if it were perfect, the developers might have rushed it so much that it loses its appeal. I remember AC 2 really stood out, especially with the character design, but after that it felt repetitive and unoriginal. Maybe releasing updates more regularly would help keep things fresh.

The main issue is that they launch games often.

I can think of several reasons why I might be willing to forgive them... 1.) They appear to have faced the most criticism for reducing graphics quality and resolution on console versions. I’d point the finger more at M$ and $ony because of their push to undermine previous console launches and release systems that prioritize profit over better hardware and solid games (no good games existed for either console at launch, and it seems to continue this pattern). 2.) They’ve been attempting to create decent ports for older consoles, which are far from x86 compatible and even worse in terms of hardware. Since they’re now concentrating only on current-gen systems, I wouldn’t be surprised if the PC versions turn out better—they don’t have to deal with older, more complex hardware. The issue remains though: their release schedule is still worse than Call of Duty at this stage. They should have been working on fixing Unity instead of developing a new Assassins Creed. As others have noted, I don’t blame the developers—I blame those in charge for the decisions they make.

And where is the apology? I only heard 'buy our next game,' right?
