as mentioned, it’s your money, but I’ve already pointed out that you’re spending a lot more without any real performance improvement. Putting a 420 on a 7600 is excessive. I’d recommend seeking advice from others before making such a purchase so you can choose the best options and avoid wasting money. Still, I hope you enjoy your new CPU! Please mark a comment as the solution so this post can be closed if it’s someone else’s or your own.

Have you attempted to reinstall the AMD chipset drivers? Would you like to verify if your PBO applies identical power limits to both CPUs? Multicore demands significant power, making frequency control the main constraint. The PBO curve mainly adjusts frequency based on voltage, but you must also increase the maximum frequency offset to achieve higher clocks. Otherwise, you risk hitting the frequency ceiling and reducing power efficiency.

Consider reinstalling Windows, but if you decide to give up then that's okay.

Same thing here, moving from 3600 to 5800x3D mostly brings benchmarks down a bit. I don’t see any differences in editing videos, and that should mean steadier frame rates and a bit higher FPS overall—most tests don’t show this. I also remember 3600 felt faster than 3200 for RAM, which shows up as lower latency in the numbers (though it uses more power: 130W vs 115W). I think the issue with 5800x3D was that it didn’t come out of the box with PBO, which really affected my 3600 setup. I miss it, lol.

ps: the best way to verify issues is using cb23. I noticed a noticeable jump in the value compared to the 3600—probably around 1000 points more than typical reviews. ps2: it seems like some BIOS settings might have been altered; you should stick to the defaults unless XMP is necessary. I also disabled RAM and increased SOC a bit (just for testing).
