For most users, the DRM on Steam feels almost unnoticed and harmless, offering a solid offline experience as well.

Your game remains accessible on Origin, Steam, or Uplay even if you lose the CD. CDs are ideal for limited internet connections or when you're concerned about data limits.

Only if the game was activated on Steam. That means you received a physical copy. The box or packaging doesn’t contain a Steam key. You installed it elsewhere, like Played, but later you cleared space and removed the disc. Then you lost the CD, and you ended up with a mod. Now you’re left trying to locate the CD in various places, including the toilets. That’s your second point.

Recently, nearly all major AAA titles rely on platforms like Steam, Origin, or Uplay. I haven’t encountered a top-tier game without one of these services in the past two years.
