the dell xps is behaving oddly lately it's booting up slowly and needs me to press the power button for several minutes before anything appears. performance is significantly reduced, task manager shows high cpu usage, and battery life has dropped to around two hours when working on documents or similar tasks with multiple tabs open. the machine was bought in summer 2020 with specs of an i7 1065g7, 16 gigs of 3733 mhz DDR4.

Review the disk condition by sorting programs based on CPU usage. It might be malware affecting the processor.

Try using a different method to restart your system or check for updates. If Avast is still not working, consider running a full system scan and ensuring your device’s software is current.

It seems the device isn't functioning properly. The laptop appears to have broken components. Is it still covered by the warranty? Could this be causing the CPU to use excessive resources?

We need to resolve the background processes mentioned in an earlier video. The laptop is just two years old and isn’t covered by any warranty anymore.

The process that's consuming the most CPU power is currently running.

as mentioned earlier, my main problem remains needing to press the power button multiple times for a few minutes, and sometimes it doesn’t work at all. the situation is worsening.

That's a hardware failure, nothing can be done about that

Here are some possible solutions: think about what might be causing the issue and see if adjustments can be made. What seems to be the problem?

It’s probably the motherboard. If you’re not already running it nonstop, replacing it would be costly and time-consuming. I’ve noticed problems with some Dell laptops where the BIOS got corrupted; updating it often makes a difference. Are you sure your BIOS is current?
