Air pockets in an AIO loop can influence your thermals by altering airflow and pressure dynamics.
If air pockets are present in the pump, it might influence thermals. Your radiator is positioned at the top, which means most air should be rising there (this is ideal). Running the pump at full capacity makes it improbable this is the issue.
I seriously doubt this is a hardware issue, did you notice any change in the CPU power draw? BIOS update could change the voltage for the CPU causing higher power draw. The AIO is still able to cool the CPU underload, 90C is completely fine, just higher that before. So if fan curves/pump speed is same as before, then CPU setting is next. A few months ago Asus boards BIOS had issue with voltage causing CPUs to be damaged, a BIOS update fixed it. So it's possible.
I’ll revert to the older BIOS and see how it goes. It seems there were no noticeable changes in CPU power consumption, which is good—I’m not familiar with CPU voltage specs anyway.
