Is everything running on a single server? Yes, that's confirmed. Multiplayer is available too—they're developing co-op options for Squadron 42. The starter pack includes the cheapest ships: Aurora and Mustang, priced around $45. The game launch timeline shows the alpha now, with a major update expected in about two months. Full release timing depends on readiness. Right now you can try the PUB test, Arena Commander (featuring Star Ship combat), and Star Marine (first-person PvP combat). Planet generation isn't random; they're using procedural techniques combined with artist input. Your 980ti and 6800K should handle 60FPS+ after optimizations are complete. VR support is planned as well.

If this project were created by someone else, they'd likely label it as unfinished. It's currently on a similar trajectory to JGE. I'm betting there are simply too many supporters for it to succeed.

I think they'll complete it, though not within the next ten years.

It seems the outcome falls short of expectations. I hope we can achieve the desired result, though perhaps we need to wait a bit longer.

This game is the newest release, and it keeps me in a constant tug-of-war. It's always changing, which is why I feel both excited and frustrated. The balance issues are really annoying!

It's something that feels acceptable enough to keep around, yet so frustrating it leaves you feeling annoyed all the time.

Precisely what it needs to say. It captures the point perfectly.
