Sound similar to an HDD running on a CPU
Hey guys, first off all here is my system: Spoiler M/B: Supermicro - X9SRL-F CPU: Intel® Xeon® CPU E5-2670 0 @ 2.60GHz Memory: 24 GB Multi-bit ECC (max. installable capacity 512 GB) Network: eth0: 1000 Mb/s, full duplex, mtu 1500 eth1: not connected eth2: not connected Kernel: Linux 4.18.20-unRAID x86_64 got an Matrox 10GB/s Card and a Nvidia GT710 in there as well Since a few days i´m hearing noises coming from the cpu . They sound kind of like HDD or Floppy Disk noises and only come up when under load (little load like 10% just running unraid and an idle win 10 vm) any Ideas where its coming from and how to remove it? Its very annoying. Thanks in Advance ps: hope this is the right subforum noise.m4a

It might have been quiet before. Don't stress, the coil just loosened slightly and started vibrating during various load phases. Sometimes companies offer to fix coil noise issues while under warranty, but once it's out of warranty, you'd need to find a professional and pay for the repair. ...Alternatively, you could accept it.
Share the audio clip or recording. The Vrm sound varies from a sharp whine to a scratching noise.
