Some odd issues in GTA V
This setup seems unusual. I saw similar issues when using GTA Online settings: 1366x768 resolution, a mix of normal and high settings on both machines, an i5 3570 with a GTX 970 and 12GB RAM. It runs well but has many frame drops in the high 30s. The CPU stays near 100%, while the GPU is mostly at 40-50%. I tried enabling DSR to make it GPU-bound, but the CPU still hits 100%. It’s strange how it behaves. How can I fix this?
The frequency curve for the 970 shows a smooth progression over time. It indicates consistent performance without sudden spikes or drops.
Adjust CPU activity to GPU since boosting resolution isn't feasible. Opt for a high or very high setting on the 970 device.
It’s updating the newest drivers for your device. If you’re unsure, I’ll try it out and let you know what happens.
You've already completed the task, but the GPU utilization stays around 70%.
The potential increase seems limited to that resolution, and the main concern is whether performance has improved.
I didn't max AAs up because it's too much. It runs a bit better now but the frame drops are still present (checked on two benchmarks). I'm worried since with my system and 1050 it was smooth and CPU usage wasn't an issue. The only changes I made were increasing RAM and swapping the 1050 for a 970. Now CPU stays at 100% constantly. Also, even without V-Sync off and after removing the framecap on Rivatuner, the game caps at 60 FPS.
