Hey! It seems today's games are becoming much more demanding to handle. Unity and Far Cry 4 are good examples. I know Unity often has optimization issues, but CPUs with just two cores struggle in FC 4. Battlefield 4 performs better with four cores. Bad Company 2 didn’t have problems on two cores either. I think Intel won’t add more cores to its i3 line soon, so to achieve higher frame rates you’ll likely need an i5, which makes games cost more when running at higher settings. What do you think?

You get what you pay for. This isn't anything new.

It's fine, four cores will soon be the norm. Games are getting more demanding in terms of VRAM and resources, so yes, that's the way things are. Some systems can handle it, while others might need a full console.

Absolutely. Those 500 units should deliver around 20 frames per second? That seems quite disappointing.

BC2 was released around 2010, which is nearly five years back. Consoles are generally okay now—some titles run at 30 fps, others at 60, and most are at 1080p on the PS4 or similar. I think things have improved since then.

I'm not complaining at all—I don't play those Ubisoft titles. My system isn't too powerful, but it works just fine for most games. Also, why does this come as a surprise?

Using bc2 users didn't encounter issues such as "omg my CPU has too few cores!" as they do now

You're asking for a summary of the message. It suggests adapting to new standards, implying older games may not be as viable, while acknowledging that enjoying past titles is still possible.

I love games that make good use of resources and actually deliver value. You can always adjust the settings to your liking. What bothers me is games that waste resources without offering any meaningful content, often due to poor design. I understand developers have their challenges, but publishers sometimes push unrealistic timelines and release games regardless of their current condition.
