I relocated and found my internet speed to be 300 mbps, but downloads remain slow. I believe I have a Xfinity modem. What steps can I take to improve it? My Windows 11 firewall is active, and Chrome is permitted. Is it possible to disable the firewall?

Where you accessing the download might indicate a server problem, on the receiving side.

your subscription speed is not related to the wifi connection, and your exact xfinity modem/gateway model is not specified.

I don't understand the Xfinity model or whether it uses WiFi. I relocated to an area with available internet, but my connection is only 700 kbps. Downloading a 775 MB file in Chrome took hours.

Does the router have a connection to your computer or laptop via an Ethernet cable?

Are you a tenant? You seem unfamiliar with wireless or Ethernet connections. This is your first time using a computer or laptop, right? As discussed earlier, do you have a cable connection? And how many people are currently using the internet?
