You mentioned your connection speed is 300 Mbps, yet Speedtest on your computer shows 468 Mbps. When downloading files, it only reaches 700 kbps. Consider testing with various files from different sources, such as PDF manuals or safe software from trusted websites.

If you're performing a browser-based download, consider getting something from Microsoft. They are among the few I've seen that can actually handle 5gbit speeds and have significant data center capacity. I'm not sure what to recommend, but usually I download Windows install images.

To test speed, open the Resource Manager and check the network tab.
It's odd because Speedtest is mainly a large file download, yet it doesn't retain the file properly. This leads me to think the location you're downloading from might be the cause of the problem.

I download from Filejoker and BitTorrent without issues in my previous home using the Atlantic Broadband router. I attempted a 775 MB file on Filejoker, but only managed to download 14 MB after half an hour yesterday. That file should have finished within 30 minutes.

It seems like you're asking about the download format. Could you clarify what you mean by "download type"?

Questions: Who provides your internet service? If not Xfinity (it was mentioned you have relocated), who is it then?
Using or trying to connect with an Xfinity cable modem could cause issues. Xfinity is also restricting end-users' abilities to view and modify modem settings.
For example, the cable modem might require bridge mode to prevent it from functioning as a router.
[E.g. : the cable modem needs bridge mode activated]
Regarding the photograph:
The cable modem appears quite dusty—some cleaning might help remove dust and maintain proper cooling.
A black coax cable seems worn or dirty. The white Ethernet cable looks twisted or bent.
What is written on the cables connected to the modem, router, and devices?
Please include a few more photos of cables and ports; your network setup should closely match the following diagram: ISP === (coax, DSL, fiber) ===> Modem ---->[WAN Port] Router [LAN Port] ----> [LAN Port] Office Wi-Fi Access Point ~~~~> Wireless network devices
With other router LAN ports—show wired devices.
Feel free to adjust and correct your line diagram to reflect your network connections between installed equipment.

I didn't inquire about any prior issues or specific files causing problems. Instead, I asked you to test other large files from various reputable sources to compare download speeds.

The issue involves frequent internet disconnections, possibly linked to a Xfinity router. Can you verify the download speed using Chrome?
