Skyrim: A resource for wizards?
Skyrim: A resource for wizards?
Hello, everyone. I'm planning another run through Skyrim and want to prepare a character build beforehand. I've spent a lot of time on both the Xbox 360 and PC versions, sticking mostly to a warrior build with a shield and sword. This time I'm shifting toward an archer/mage hybrid, mainly focusing on archery. However, I have no prior knowledge of mages or spells—my usual style is a straightforward brute character. I'm curious if any experienced Skyrim players can help me understand the basics of magic, like staffs, handheld items, or spellbooks. I'm not sure how these elements connect, but I'd love to pick up some new skills for my stream.
Staff and spells offer slightly different approaches, but both require strong enchantment and destruction abilities. Consider acquiring items that increase your mana pool rather than focusing on regeneration. As you progress to higher enchantment levels, you'll be able to lower the mana cost of one skill to around 3-4 mana when your pool reaches 400-600 mana. Take it slow, avoid rushing, and collect more mana flasks to save time during leveling.
Mage struggles in late stages without enhancements, but a reliable bow can make a big difference.
You only needed a brief update. It doesn’t add much value. I searched for details to understand other players' strategies and saw that a character combining an archer and a mage is common. I appreciate the chance to chat with others on these platforms too.
I've never tried mods in Skyrim before, but I wanted to. I’d choose that path, though I think it could add more complexity and make things harder to handle. Still, my main goal stays on archery, and if I can grasp some basics of magic, that would be enough.
Updating Skyrim with Nexus Mods is a straightforward process.
It seems you're highlighting the lack of effort in this post. Regarding your point, mage is best suited for the late game and isn't enjoyable without a mode.
