I'm trying to boost my RAM speed by overclocking the PNY Anarchy 2x8GB module. It runs at 15-15-15-1.20V with 2133-2400 MHz compatibility, and I'm using an Asus Rog Z-390 motherboard.
Typically folks don’t change their RAM beyond the XMP settings. You can tweak the voltage a bit and adjust the clock speeds, but it’s mostly guesswork.
If you ignore the instructions and we offer any tips, it could cause a serious issue that resets everything. You’d need to find out how to fix it on your system, even though the computer seems to be working now.
Boot XMP at 2133mhz. Press F10 to save, enter bios with second post. Adjust timing to 16-16-16-16-35, then save again and run windows stability test. It passes. Choose the next higher frequency. Manually set voltage between 1.350v and 1.400v. Let's check if Atmel modules can make a slight adjustment.
XMP Profile caused noticeable performance drops, around 3 to 10 fps changes. Running at 2800 MHz RAM seemed stable, but frequent reboots triggered a blue screen indicating a critical process failure. I assumed the issue wasn't with my system's voltage or power supply.
