You're planning to upgrade your motherboard and CPU, right? That's a big step! It sounds like you're diving into some technical stuff, so it's smart to double-check the advice you're getting. Since you've seen many videos on the topic, try to focus on reputable sources—look for reviews from trusted tech websites or experienced builders. When in doubt, cross-reference the information and make sure the guides match your specific hardware model. Good luck!

Don't feel obligated, though I'd be happy if there were any concerns. Could you tell me what system you're running and what components you're considering replacing?

I have no clue about your current motherboard, but your CPU is an I7 3770 and you're switching to an Asus Prime B365M-K with an I5-9400F. You're using Windows 10 Enterprise now. It seems your license might not be valid.

It seems you're referring to a licensing issue with Windows. Would you like to know more about it?

Just testing the drive by moving it over to check functionality. If there are problems, I’ll reinstall it myself. This isn’t about upgrading—I’m sticking with my current setup.

You need to start from scratch with a brand new Windows update.

If you were me, grab a USB stick and download Windows—it only has a small watermark on the PC version. If you prefer not to use that method or want a fresh key, there are many trustworthy sellers online. Check out some YouTube channels; I think Linus has a video about a Windows key seller site.

I have a 500 euro budget for this improvement. I'm replacing the case, power supply, MOBO, RAM, and CPU so that the motherboard and CPU offer the best value for money.

I don’t have much experience with using a USB drive to install Windows, but I’ll give it a shot. It’s frustrating having to re-download every game—it could take around five days.
