It seems the motherboard might be the issue before considering upgrades like RAM or a GPU. Trying a new motherboard could be a better first step.

Consider updating the BIOS for that board. Keep the underside of the CPU tidy. Avoid touching the pins in the socket. A dirty pad caused a faulty CPU due to poor pin contact, which was related to the memory issue.
