If you slightly overclock the 1600 while keeping the 1600X at its original setting, they'll be similar in performance. Otherwise, the 1600X offers a 400MHz base and boost clock benefit, giving it roughly a 10% edge over stock in stock-to-stock comparisons.

Consider a suitable heat sink for 1600x.

This guidance has been shared many times before.
At regular speeds, the 1600 and 1600x models differ by roughly 3%, which translates to around 2 frames per second.
Both reach 3.7gh under mid to heavy multi-core usage; the 1600x offers little extra value, as you receive less for your investment.

If you purchase r 1600 then you should expect around 60 fps when using medium to high settings with the gtx 1060 GB.

The 1060 3gb performs less well compared to the Ryzen 1600.
After upgrading to a new CPU, the GPU will start to be the main constraint.

However, I already have a GTX 1060 with 3GB of VRAM. Since upgrading isn't possible, what's the optimal CPU choice to ensure top gaming performance?
