Switching from Intel to AMD is the final step. Are there any concerns about this configuration? I’m mainly worried about space constraints with the cooler and RAM.
Cheers.

The only thing that stands out is the three different WD hard drives available in sizes of 1 TB, 3 TB, and another 3 TB. It's clear from their presence in an older build. It's not as obvious when buying new for this PC. What is the exact role or function of these three drives?

That's correct. From the latest build, I continued using the same setup. Initially, I had just 1 terabyte, but later I upgraded the storage on my NAS and transferred the two 3 terabytes from the NAS to my PC.

Uhm, seems the Noctua cooler might not match the socket size. Check the dimensions carefully.

The cooler is confirmed to be compatible, and the Noctua site also supports this compatibility. A mounting kit for AM5 was available starting January 2019.

Alright, just confirming. The AM5 wasn't mentioned as a supported socket, which might mean I got an old page. Checking the cooler details: the specs say 41mm and 39mm, while your G.Skills are 44m high—this could be an issue. If the cooler can't be rotated 90 degrees, you might need sturdier ram sticks. From the NH-U12S specs, it seems the clearance isn't clear, but it probably means your RAM is too tall to fit.

Oh wow, I was really nervous about that. Thanks. I’m looking for a cooler with at least 45mm clearance or a sturdier memory option. That’s a new direction. It’s interesting their site claims 100% RAM clearance—maybe I should send them an email.

I was curious about the Noctua NH-D15 I purchased. The dimensions for dual fan mode show a 32mm clearance, but nothing is mentioned about clearance in alternate rotation. It’s possible to set it up so the cooler doesn’t block the RAM too much and instead faces the GPU, possibly overlapping the M.2 slot. Either way, it’s quite large, so I double-checked to ensure it would fit without issues.

Looking at the photos, it’s clear there’s more clearance than stated—though not exactly 66mm. This makes me a bit puzzled. The specs say you shouldn’t fit RAM taller than 44mm, yet I found more than 0.5mm between the cooler and RAM. (I know the fan isn’t installed, but it wouldn’t change much in this setup.)

The reviewer appreciates the RAM choice and suggests looking into a cooler that accommodates it. They express uncertainty about whether their specific Noctua pick can fit in a certain type of cooler.

Thank you, yes I revised my comment following your reply. Their site mentions 100% RAM clearance—maybe I should send them an email. I also concur about the RAM; I like G.skill.
