I’ll try to crank up the heat and then lift it straight up, because I can’t be sure if the pins are still inside the sock or came out right away when I released the heatsink. If I twist it while it’s not seated properly, it could bend all the pins. Also, I’m considering a Deepcool AK620 since it’s working better than the previous model.
Twisting and lifting "unstraight" helps prevent inefficient vacuum. It's been a while since I used AMD, but the CPU stays tight when you loosen the cooler, right?
The pins must remain securely in place after removing the heat sink. They shouldn’t fall off immediately; the retention arm needs to hold them in position. If you’re very cautious, gently press the cooler to confirm the pins are still in the socket and correctly aligned, then rotate it slightly left and right to ensure the thermal paste can be accessed.
