Verify your modem and router for gigabit compatibility. It’s likely your ISP used 100Mb equipment, possibly to reduce expenses—especially if you’re not buying a higher-tier plan. If this is your setup or the ISP needs to upgrade, they’ll replace it with gigabit devices.
It’s probably not possible to achieve 554Mbit over WiFi. I’ve never seen a router with a Gigabit WAN port and only 100Mbit LAN ports at the same time—it seems unusual.
I’ll likely call and see if they can inspect the cable first, thinking the end might be damaged. I’d expect about 2 minutes for them to crimp a new one, depending on the process. I can’t move the router unless they decide to extend the fiber run further, since it only reached its current mounting point.
