It might be due to the computer's age and the motherboard. Providing your specifications would help us eliminate it. Note: The previous specs were shared, so you can assume a GB connection is supported.

Do you have a router at home? The cable connecting the router to your computer is what I was referring to.

It runs from the router through the kitchen wall, up the house side, into a drilled hole in my room, and connects to my PC.

My computer runs smoothly, but moving it downstairs would be tough. I might consider getting a thick Ethernet cable or contacting the service team for assistance.

Verify your modem and router for gigabit compatibility. It’s likely your ISP used 100Mb equipment, possibly to reduce expenses—especially if you’re not buying a higher-tier plan. If this is your setup or the ISP needs to upgrade, they’ll replace it with gigabit devices.

Consider relocating the router to your location, keeping only the router and a few Ethernet cables. Check for a gigabit connection between your PC and the router using the adapter settings that you captured in the screenshot.

It’s probably not possible to achieve 554Mbit over WiFi. I’ve never seen a router with a Gigabit WAN port and only 100Mbit LAN ports at the same time—it seems unusual.

I’ll likely call and see if they can inspect the cable first, thinking the end might be damaged. I’d expect about 2 minutes for them to crimp a new one, depending on the process. I can’t move the router unless they decide to extend the fiber run further, since it only reached its current mounting point.

Indeed, I hadn't considered that before.
