Most games work well these days with a 4 gig video card. My 3060 12 gig handles them perfectly at full settings. You don’t have to force them to 4K unless you really want to.

You're free to hold any view you like. However, I don't see much reason to play at 1080 anymore. My thoughts are just as valid as yours.

This is irrelevant as there is no "need" to play video games at all. Need has nothing to do with it.

It feels a lot like a clip from one of those 'Hot Take' videos.

Most users don’t see much value in upgrading to 4K with current hardware. It’s usually not what people really want. For those using a 4090, 4K is the only sensible option. Everyone has different tastes, and I can confidently say most will be fine playing at 1440p on a high-quality screen. At least they have that flexibility.

I'm glad you're comfortable with standard 1080p settings for gaming. However, I need more detail—ultra-wide 1440p requires significantly more memory, so 8GB or 12GB won't suffice. I've decided to go with 24GB to ensure smooth performance.

Bill Gates mentioned that personal computers wouldn't require more than 640K of memory. Soon, 4K could become the standard for 1080p. You might be exclaiming, "Wow, it's just 4K!"

Same here, even back then 4K was tough to run on Crysis 3 (I’m still 15, so you got me). I believe 4K has always been the top-tier standard for a long time. But I do think it might eventually become the norm again.
