I focus mainly on crafting music using electric guitar, synth plugins, and drum plugins. My setup includes a 1950X Threadripper build, and I’d like to skip buying a Mac entirely. An iPad will handle iOS tasks. If others here create music, do you use both Mac and PC? Initially, I considered a Mac Pro, but I prefer building my own hardware whenever possible. I’m just starting out, so I still need guidance on software and plugins. Your advice would be greatly appreciated!

It mainly depends on the software you're interested in and the environment it thrives in. If you prefer Windows, you might not need a Mac.

I appreciate the feedback, but I'm still in the early stages and not fully aware of what I require. This is the general direction I'm aiming for as I grow. It might even be a chance to try assembling a hackintosh.

There are many choices for making music on the Windows side, but since you’re using an iPad already, a Mac would fit well within your existing setup. If the apps you use on there have Windows versions, you can easily switch to a PC. Ultimately, it depends on what you prefer—whether you want Logic Pro X or other Windows applications.

That's a good summary. I usually like creating my own solutions.

Exclude any references to AMD or Threadripper processors.

It's great to hear you're ready for Stevie Boys system at that level! But it's still not possible on a Threadripper even in a virtual machine.
