Who hasn't still chosen Windows 10? If you haven't, what's stopping you? I personally dislike the start menu more than Windows 7.

We already have these discussions going on...
Typical reasons people avoid upgrading include reluctance to change and concerns about privacy when using the new menu. I really like Windows 10.

I’m still using Windows 7 on my main PC and don’t have the chance to reinstall or set everything up again because of school. I think about upgrading this summer when I can. Right now there are no custom themes available for Windows 10—only the dark theme is partially ready and doesn’t work well on important apps like File Explorer or the Control Panel.

You might need to reinstall because even after an upgrade, some changes didn’t take effect. Your friend’s experience suggests the issue persists.

No changes required, just proceed as usual.

If that's the issue, I recommend trying Classic Shell: http://www.classicshell.net/. It's useful for my Windows 8.1 setup and offers great personalization. I also tested it in a W10 virtual machine, which functioned perfectly.

I don’t feel the need to upgrade unless the games I want to play are exclusive for developers, plus Vulcan seems common among the creators of those titles. I might stay on Windows 7 or switch to Mint instead.
