It seems you might have experienced some driver problems with Windows 10, as it clearly outperforms Windows 8.1. Additionally, 8.1 feels like a partially developed product, while 10 offers a much more polished experience.

Sure, but Embedded also offers fewer capabilities, which means the start menu displays just the desktop application.

I mainly preferred Windows 8.1 for slower hard drives, but as updates came out, Windows 10 performs better on them, making it harder for me to stick with 8.1 anymore.

Is it embedded? I’m not familiar with running it. I know the Windows 10 version is called IoT Core, but I haven’t used it before, so I can’t offer any guidance.

I experienced frequent blue screens and crashes on Windows 8.1, so I won't return. I'm sticking with Windows 7 and Mint.
