Latest system is experiencing frequent crashes.
The GPU isn’t fitting into the case at all. I might need to find a workaround to get it in place. I managed to install it on my PC, but it worked unexpectedly well. What might be causing this issue?
This exact issue might stem from damaged system files. After reinstalling Windows, your SSD could be faulty. Consider using the SSD in another device (without booting) to examine its SMART status and perform diagnostics. Any detected errors or bad blocks likely caused the corruption. Also, test the RAM to eliminate other possibilities.
I successfully installed my large GPU on the system. I plan to power it up later to check the results. Suggested tools for SSD and RAM testing—both are brand new, so feel free to ask!
You can use Memtest86+ to test your RAM and make a bootable USB or CD if needed. I don’t know much about Adata, but visit their website for tools that check firmware updates and overall health. CrystalDiskInfo is another option for viewing SMART data—upload a screenshot of the drive here. Also, verify that your motherboard’s BIOS is up to date.
Updated: RAM test on Windows passed. Checked SSD using CMD tool and SMART info with AIDA64 Extreme—everything normal. My 7800 XT showed issues too, including artifacts and driver crashes. Upon closer look, two pins in the PCIE x16 slot appear bent or broken. I’ll share a photo tomorrow.
Sorry to hear that. I was about to suggest to try it in another PCI-E x16 slot, but I googled that motherboard and it seems it only has 1 slot. You could try to claim warranty on it but there's a risk that the reseller deny it, saying that damage is something you've done.
Interesting progress… I wiped the motherboard with isopropyl alcohol and put everything back in place. The computer ran smoothly for around five hours without any issues. I was close to feeling confident, but when I restarted to complete the setup, all the problems reappeared. It seems like a SSD might be the cause now. That makes sense.
Install drive: Secondary – (his old used SSD, just the legacy component that made it through to this PC, I thought it was important to mention.) Quick break with the video from the PCIE slot. EDIT:
I believe it might relate to insufficient PCI-E connections. The Ryzen 4500 appears to offer only 16 PCI-E lanes, according to what I found online. If the GTX 1650 or your GPU uses 16 lanes and the SSD Adata Legend 700 uses 4 lanes, the total could reach 20, which might cause issues.
