Issue with Asus TUF 3080Ti overheating - fans stop working when things get hot
Yes and brilliant minds share ideas. I’ll change the video cards right away, but I won’t be able to fully stress-test the PC as my son does now for another week or two when he comes back. I’m hoping to share a picture of his Seasonic label tomorrow, and perhaps check mine too for comparison.
Execute a benchmark similar to Cinebench or Superposition to assess GPU performance after a swap, observe the results.
Updated... I observed his GPU hitting 80c during a game (previously maxed at 60c). The fans were spinning, but the card sounded oddly quiet. Used MSI Afterburner to set the fan speed to 100%, but no improvement was seen. Tried various settings, still nothing changed. It looks like the afterburner has lost control of the fans???
Remove afterburner. Disable Nvidia drivers using DDU. Restart and then install the latest drivers, excluding afterburner. Any modifications?
