I hope you can take out the power supply tomorrow to check the label, since we have two and it will be fun to compare them. Also, the quoted links might refer to the entire PC shutting down, not just the GPU fans??

Yes and brilliant minds share ideas. I’ll change the video cards right away, but I won’t be able to fully stress-test the PC as my son does now for another week or two when he comes back. I’m hoping to share a picture of his Seasonic label tomorrow, and perhaps check mine too for comparison.

No clear date found anywhere. Both supply serial numbers begin with R2105AA335780. I haven’t had a chance to swap the GPU. I’ll update once my son is back.

PSU might be fine, but the GPU seems more likely to be the problem.
I’d take out Afterburner to confirm it’s not interfering with the test.

Updated... I observed his GPU hitting 80c during a game (previously maxed at 60c). The fans were spinning, but the card sounded oddly quiet. Used MSI Afterburner to set the fan speed to 100%, but no improvement was seen. Tried various settings, still nothing changed. It looks like the afterburner has lost control of the fans???

Remove afterburner. Disable Nvidia drivers using DDU. Restart and then install the latest drivers, excluding afterburner. Any modifications?
