Afterburner and video driver taken out. Video card removed from the PC, fan connector reattached on the 3080ti board, which means PCI connector and power plugs were reset again. Driver and afterburner reinstalled. Anti-aliasing turned off in the driver. Asus Armoury Crate updated. Grills on the case front removed to boost airflow. Afterburner now manages fans. Alarm set for 65°C and tested with Minecraft (unpleasant custom shaders while flying around fast in spectator mode), then more tests later when he returns. GPU temperature peaked at about 58°C.
