You don't really need to reinstall Windows because it's on a separate drive. You can back up the "D:" drive to Google Drive and clear all partitions there. However, some programs will still need to be reinstalled. If you were in my shoes, I'd just skip it. The space available isn't huge.
Certainly! You can adjust the settings to ensure D remains a static drive instead of a dynamic one.
Also, if I right click on D: there is an option that says Reactivate Volume, but it is grayed out so that I can't click it. This option is not on the other Volumes.
They are merely various forms of disks used for organizing partitions, making the choice irrelevant.
