I’ve been working with this ASUS motherboard for two weeks trying to figure out why the XMP profile fails in Fortnite on DIMM slots 2 and 4. Switching the DIMMs to slots 1 and 3 makes it take a long time to boot and post. I reached out to ASUS but haven’t gotten any response yet. I bought the recommended RAM and everything seems compatible. Please help me, this is my only chance. Specs: i9-13900k, Asus Z790 A Wifi, G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB, DDR5, RTX 4070ti, 1TB.

It seems XMP disabled makes everything function properly, but enabling it causes crashes in Fortnite. The crashes appear to be sudden freezes followed by the game closing, or possibly a blue screen. It doesn’t seem limited to Fortnite alone.

Consider checking your RAM. Install memtest from the software megathread, copy it to a USB drive, and start it.

I purchased the motherboard, hard drive, and RAM. Fortnite doesn’t work properly when I enable XMP with RAM in slots 2 and 4. But changing the slots to 1 and 3 makes it run smoothly. When I boot into recovery mode, I launch Windows and can play Fortnite on a high-end device at over 200 frames per second.
