I upgraded today and set my x370 Taichi to 6.61. Then I swapped in the 5600x and it started up fine without issues. It seems stable after running some tests and playing games. There were three mysterious PCI devices in Device Manager, but after checking the chipset drivers at amd.com, they resolved with the correct drivers. Thanks to ASRock for keeping this motherboard running longer. The BIOS support looks great!
It's nice to know it helped you as well. Have you checked adjusting your memory speed and timing? 6.61 lets me share with my Vipers at 4400 XMP, while previous BIOS versions limited it to 4000.
You're experiencing issues with sleep or hibernation functions. The monitor stays on even after turning off power, and pressing the mouse activates it again. Your RAM doesn't appear to be fully optimized.
I haven't encountered any sleep problems yet. I put the system to sleep each evening and it remains asleep throughout the night without any issues, waking up immediately when I press the keyboard. It could help to turn off wake from mouse or wake from keyboard in the BIOS settings. The problem might stem from a small compatibility issue between one of your peripherals and Taichi. Other ideas include disabling quick startup in Windows and making sure S states are active in the BIOS.
The cards have worked well even on a high-resolution monitor. I can still play newer titles at medium or low settings with smooth performance, and they handle demanding tasks like Lightroom, Photoshop, and DaVinci Resolve efficiently. Regarding Crossfire, I only turn it on in older games designed for it, such as Battlefield 3 and 4. Starting new games with Crossfire active often causes issues like artifacts and stuttering, so I usually disable it. The primary reason I keep these R9 290 Vapor-X cards is because they look great together.
