I don't see any effect from what I do.

PBO on auto is just normal settings, very little changes by itself, you need to utilize its features such as ridwan 123 mentioned.

It’s important to note that unless your cooling system is advanced, you won’t notice a significant performance jump. AMD Ryzen chips are typically grouped near their maximum clock speeds. The gap between regular and overclocked speeds is minimal. GPU overclocking can improve performance, but only if the chip has sufficient binning flexibility. PBO offers an adjustment based on temperature and power, but it’s cautious to prevent damage. If you choose to overclock manually, raise the power limits and adjust the multiplier as needed. Be aware that system compatibility will affect how much you can boost. The 9800x3d already outperforms or matches many Intel processors in gaming scenarios. Any gains in frame rate will likely be small at most.

I just turned on pbo with a +200 mhz boost, but the processor seems stuck around 5300 mhz. It might not have enough headroom. The edc and tdc limits are similar to Intel’s CPU limits, but they could differ from AMD. Raising the CPU limit does increase frequency, though it still works fine. I’m just hoping the Windows 24 H2 update will be the best today.

EDC, Tdc and Ppt(?) I adjusted to 500, which just gives meaningless values. You’re defining current and power limits. I configured the curve optimiser at -20, which stabilizes the CPU and causes it to undervolt. You’ll need trial and error to fine-tune it. Begin at -10, then -15, and adjust until it stops working properly. The boost override you already have is set to +200. I cap the CPU temperature at 85°C using the BIOS maximum temp setting, which may reduce performance slightly but adds some protection. Enabling memory context restore will help with boot speed.

When pbo is enabled, the edc, tdc, and ppt settings are at 1000, with a +200 MHz adjustment bringing the clock to around 5300 MHz. The temperature is still not at its maximum, about 20 degrees below the limit, and it seems to be operating on auto mode.

This might just be the maximum clock speed for your CPU. It remains a very fast processor. 9800x3d offers the best performance for gaming.

I didn't mention an option named cpu current capability in Digi VRM, and increasing it might affect the CPU frequency. Please try that instead.

I don’t have any prior experience with that. I use PBO and adjust the settings, which keeps the CPU within acceptable ranges, managing heat, power, and voltage.
Using manual controls can boost performance but poses a risk of harming components.
Ultimately it’s your decision.
