I realized you can't alter it—really silly, right? Many experts stick with 16:9, while 1080p works best on consoles. Opting for 1440p or 4K is the trend now.

It's not foolish, it's about creating a balanced situation.

It's about fairness in viewing angles. Using a 4:3 stretch feels balanced for everyone, while a 16:9 format can look skewed. The choice isn't about cheating—it's about what works best for the audience.

You just reversed your position, claiming no benefit while also arguing it isn’t dishonest.

Comparing 4:3 stretched to 16:9 1080p only increases screen size without improving gameplay significantly. It's similar to enlarging text for better visibility—it helps you spot details more easily, like seeing a character's expression clearer. Pun intended.

I purchased 16:9 because of a need. 4:3 is just okay. Just having the equipment doesn't improve your skills if you're not good at the game from the start.

I disagree that it does I don't think there is an advantage, but it effectively lets you change FOV which is not allow .. so why is monitor stretching allowed? its doing a similar task as decreasing your FOV to make the player models appear larger Personally I think having greater peripheral vision and smoother mouse movement are WAY more beneficial than slightly bigger player models I will never understand the 4:3 stretched thing

I use 2560x1080 resolution, which helps me keep track of both sides when I focus on one area. It’s similar to placing two 4:3 screens side by side.
