Hello, the idea of using 4:3 instead of 16:9 with a 1280x960 resolution in CS:GO is a common suggestion. Some players believe it can improve performance or visual quality. However, whether it's the best choice depends on your setup and preferences. Many users still favor 16:9 for its wider viewing experience. How many of you have tried this?

There are equally many supporters who argue that playing this way is foolish.

It seems you're asking about adjusting a display size for better viewing. If you can work with a 4:3 aspect ratio and extend it to fullscreen, that should improve the experience.

Others try to adjust – but why? Stretching changes proportions and can affect your mouse performance by altering its speed in different directions.

That's correct, I was referring to extending it. You're correct about the mouse; I just attempted it and it affected my sensitivity.

I use a 1400x1050 4:3 format stretched for larger display, but be careful—changing settings may require adjusting your sensitivity.

Certainly. It seems the issue arises when stretching the screen causes unusual mouse behavior because movement speeds up more horizontally than vertically. The problem also involves larger player models with reduced peripheral vision. You might consider adjusting the field of view to fit the bigger models or use a high-resolution monitor and scale down the resolution instead.

In reality, after playing for a while like that you become accustomed to the usual mouse behavior, actually I didn’t notice any unusual movements at first. Regarding peripheral vision, I rarely get caught out of my sight because of my limited peripheral awareness. As for adjusting the field of view, I believe it’s not possible to change your overall FOV, only the weapon model’s FOV can be modified.

16:9 offers numerous benefits, including a wider viewing experience and a more visually appealing layout. Many users prefer it over 4:3 because it aligns with common standards and trends. Some individuals also adjust the aspect ratio to make content appear larger on their screens.

To enjoy silly resolutions, I'd try playing on a console. 1080pmasterrace
