It seems to be a special addition from Saint's Row 4, the game of the century. Certainly. However, for me it would be Alan Wake. I'm not sure if it qualifies since it was released in 2010, but it's definitely the most memorable title I've ever played. People still mention 'Alan Wake 2' often.

I believe Overwatch receives the game of the year award in 2016 because it is a large game with significant focus on minor details.
