Mass Effect's first game comes with an all-in-one pack. You can find details at the provided link. The second and third installments are Texmods sourced from Bioware forums. I regret there isn’t an all-in-one version for those games yet, though one might appear later. Use the memory address program mentioned in the first mod to run all three titles. The game has been downscaled from 4K to a lower resolution. In the first two games, I played at 5.2K; on the third, the interface became too small for clarity after 4K. For the second game, most installations work without issues. The third game includes a special version for the Citadel DLC and Omega DLC, plus specific character outfits available at 4K. There’s also ME3explorer now, which allows permanent edits instead of relying on Texmods. On my custom build with an older CPU, loading took about five minutes, so I didn’t bother. Faster hardware could make it worthwhile.

The surface detail on Geralt is quite impressive. All the captured frames here come from the original video on GamerSyde, not from YouTube. Other players also have decent textures, though not quite matching Geralt’s look. Still, the environment texture needs some improvement. In the screenshot I shared, it seems this version of Geralt was altered in the game due to the poor quality of the background compared to him. Maybe it’s just my perception, but seeing such high detail feels unrealistic for this setting.

I used MEUITM during the initial game. Later, I didn’t bother to collect texture mods for the next title and only managed a few for the third one. When I replay 2 and 3, I’ll do my best to fix the issue. Regarding UHD, you’re right about the text scaling. The first two games performed well, but playing 3 at UHD was challenging. I might have lowered it to 1440p to avoid strain. Thanks for sharing Gedosato—wondering if there’s a resolution cap for Mass Effect on an UHD display. I suspect it won’t noticeably improve visuals, though the environment textures could use some tweaks. In the screenshot below, Geralt’s texture looks altered because of how low the environment quality is compared to him. It seems like a mod was applied just to fix the appearance. You reminded me again—there’s a download link in the video description for an uncompressed file that might support the downgrade idea.

They checked with Adam Badowski from CD Projekt RED. They confirmed there’s only one version available. Without it, development would be too complex and time-consuming. They use a single database and adapt for different platforms, adjusting models and complexity based on what’s needed at any moment. The main goal is optimization without noticeable visual loss. On Ubersampling, they mention future improvements but note that current performance meets expectations. The team believes GPU power alone can’t overcome the limitations of 4K downsampling in Witcher 2.

I think these textures might be low resolution due to YouTube compression. We should wait for uncompressed trailers. Nice that I no longer preorder games.
