It’s improbable that a thermal problem is the cause, however, you can utilize MSI Afterburner to monitor temperatures during gameplay. How long have you owned this laptop? Did these issues exist from the beginning? If it’s recently purchased, you might be utilizing your integrated graphics processor instead of the dedicated one. I'm unsure how to determine this, but it’s a possibility.

Regarding RAM, I recommend purchasing a kit – typically consisting of two 4GB sticks or two 8GB sticks. Mixing RAM modules is generally not recommended, as it can lead to suboptimal performance and potentially render some sticks ineffective. As for speed, you should consult your laptop's specifications online to determine its supported RAM frequency; however, I would suggest aiming for 2133MHz to 3000MHz RAM as a suitable range.

If I purchase additional memory and simply install the fresh set instead of my previous RAM, does the new kit require the same speed as the old one? Since the older module is no longer in use, does its current performance need to align with the new setup, or is that irrelevant?

I’ll be monitoring temperature readings in Forza Horizon 4 using MSI Afterburner, and I will provide updates on my findings. Also, by the way – could I utilize MSI Kombuster to assess temperatures and related metrics?

Regarding RAM speed, it can be identical or improved, provided it’s DDR4 SODIMM modules. Research indicates your laptop would benefit from 2400MHz RAM, either by purchasing two 8GB sticks at that rate or opting for a slightly quicker variant like 3000MHz, although the performance gains in games are likely to be minimal. Furthermore, considering it’s a laptop, extensive testing isn't necessary; simply playing games and assessing its functionality is sufficient.

Could you clarify the delay? Or alternatively, perhaps a recording and upload to YouTube would be helpful? Forza contains an integrated performance impediment similar to GTA V, which may result in jerky movements, texture loss, or AI freezing.

The gameplay is incredibly unstable—it’s practically unplayable. The game consistently freezes, experiences sudden delays, and has a frustrating number of interruptions.

The game Forza Horizon 3 presented me with issues, even with it running, I managed to get somewhat playable performance. However, the lagging was incredibly severe, and my graphics card’s temperature reached 83 degrees Celsius while I was playing. My GPU clock speed was 1809 MHz, my memory clock speed was 3504 MHz, and the voltage setting was 0V.

A laptop GPU temperature of 83°C is acceptable, though it could be improved. It appears your clocks are not being reduced, suggesting the problem may lie with a single RAM module or be related to software. Could you please check your CPU clock speeds?

The MSI Afterburner application would similarly offer this capability. It allows you to display the temperatures and clock speeds of both your graphics card and central processing unit simultaneously.

For the CPU, it’s anticipated to reach a frequency range of 3.4GHz to 3.8GHz. (The extent to which core usage affects performance in games like Forza or your personal gaming preferences is unknown.)

3.4GHz would occur when all eight cores are operating, and 3.6GHz would be achieved with just two cores active. 3.8GHz is possible if only a single core is being utilized.

At idle, you should observe speeds of 2.8GHz or less – a condition that shouldn’t occur during gaming or any other form of activity. If you detect speeds below 2.8GHz while playing games, it could potentially indicate a problem with your CPU.

I am unable to locate the setting to display my computer’s processor statistics within MSI Afterburner.
