You should specify the hardware requirements to ensure proper operation. There are various methods to manage CPU heat—either running at full capacity is secure but inefficient, or the system can adjust power usage based on temperature. However, you usually need to inform the computer it doesn’t require excessive cooling. Note: 50°C during idle is still high, especially at 2000 RPM. Your existing cooler may not be ideal, though it might not be a major issue unless idle time is minimal.

Yes, you can adjust the fan speed, but increasing it might make the CPU work harder and generate more heat.

I just incorporated that into the earlier discussion. Adjusting for idle at 50° isn't ideal, especially at 2000rpm. Your stock cooler seems okay though, maybe not too bad. It could be an issue if your system isn't truly idling. Yes, it might be. In your video, the fan spins at 2000 and appears slower with acceptable noise. Used to working with 120mm fans now. Larger fans tend to produce more noise at the same RPM. It's possible you have an 80mm model and it could be fine. You might consider repasting if you have the time and materials. Look at the paste layout once taken apart. You may be all right as is. Make sure your system can manage a full workload, like Cinebench, without overheating or throttling.

I just adjusted the fan speed to the minimum and noticed the cooler operates within that range. It begins making a sound near 2800 RPM but remains quiet. The peak temperature reached was about 80°C during a CPU stress test.

Might be typical. With HWinfo64 you can verify if your machine is slowing down due to heat. Just enable "Sensors Only" when it starts. Edited November 3, 2023 by leclod
