XP was quick enough... I still use it to run some old games like 3D Pinball on Windows XP... Browsing the web is a real pain... The biggest file I could manage was a flash game, over 200MB when loaded completely (it's divided so only essential parts are preloaded)... It runs at a smooth 15 frames per second.

Looking for a minimal browser? Lynx is a great option! It's only about 5 MB in size. It's completely text-based and still being improved after more than two decades of development. Check it out here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lynx_(web_browser)
