I’m paying for a 1000Mbps internet plan but only get up to 100Mbps. I’ve tested nearly everything—my cables are Cat5e, which is the lowest required for that speed. The motherboard and router both support 1000Mbps, and I’ve enabled full duplex in both Windows and the router settings.

I'm checking how the tests are running and the typical speeds you can expect on your local network.

Hi. Have you tried your internet on other devices like a phone through wi-fi or another computer? Have you installed all the drivers needed on Windows? You can enter the device manager on Windows, see the model of your network card and download the drivers off the internet. Also, if you want to troubleshoot you can also make a bootable Ubuntu Linux USB stick and see if the problem persists (you don't need to install it, you can run it on your USB stick). Here's how: https://ubuntu.com/tutorials/tutorial-cr...1-overview

On my TV the signal stays consistent at 100 Mbps in both directions, while my laptop shows the same speed despite what my ISP claims is a 1000 Mbps transmission. They say it’s not their responsibility.

The direct connection speed depends on your specific setup and internet service, but typically it ranges from 10 Mbps up to several gigabits per second.

Consider using a different speed test to check for ISP problems.
